Curl Cult Perms

What makes a Curl Cult perm different?

1. Uses natural ingredients that do no harm

It's vegan, cruelty free, sulfate surfactant free and paraben free, and made in Italy with the highest quality and care you can get.

2. Respects Your Time

The Curl Cult system cuts perm processing time in half and creates wash-and-go styles for a wide range of hair types. That makes more time for kids, work, or whatever you love most.

3. Uses Pea Proteins which are rich in amino acids

This helps increase hydration. Hair absorbs smaller molecules more easily, and they link together to form a protective network that prevents cuticle cracking and damage—the kind that comes from excessive styling and/or hot styling tools.

4. Leaves hair healthier than before

Hair is infused with PisumProtex™ technology – a unique blend of pea protein & plex technology. Curl Cult Liberate solution opens the cuticle layer and infuses PisumProtex™ deep into the hair shaft. Your hair will be noticeably softer with added life and texture for easy, air dry and go hair.

5. Requires certification to perform the service

Salon Dushons is a certified Curl Cult salon.

FAQs:

What is the Curl Cult Texture Treatment?
Curl Cult is a new texture treatment that can create or reform curls or waves. This non-damaging formula is good for your hair and the planet with its vegan ingredients and pea protein infused solution. Less steps and a much softer scent get you in and out of the salon comfortably so you can wake up every day with soft, natural looking, touchable texture.

How much time does it take?
Time is determined on an individual basis depending on hair length, type, and desired outcome. It can take as little as 90-minute for the IT Wave or partial service or up to 3 hours for curl reformation service. Your stylist will be able to communicate how much time to allow during your consultation.

What results can be expected?
Whether you're adding curls or waves or defining your current curl pattern, your Curl Cult treatment will leave you with an effortless wash and go look. Your hair will be noticeably softer with added life and texture for easy, air dry and go hair.

Can hair be colored before the treatment?
We recommend any color service to be done 2 weeks after your Curl Cult treatment.

Can the treatment be done on chemically treated hair, or hair that has been straightened or relaxed?
Getting a Curl Cult service over a keratin treatment can be inconsistent so we recommend a test strand first before proceeding with the entire service. A Curl Cult service should not be done over previously relaxed hair or hair colored with henna.

How many days after the treatment before the hair can get wet or be washed?
You must wait 48 hours before washing your hair, swimming, or sweating profusely.

Can the hair be pulled back or clipped during the 72 hour waiting period?
No. The hair should not have any impressions made by using bands or clips during this period. If hair looks or feels flat, you may run your hands under water and scrunch into hair to refresh, or spray with Magic Spell.

Is it okay if the hair gets wet during the 72 hour waiting period?
We do not advise getting the hair wet during this period. It can greatly affect results.

What kind of shampoo and conditioner should be used?
Paraben-free and sulfate surfactant-free shampoos and conditioners such as Refresh and Revive add lightweight hydration, support hair wellness with PisumProtex and avoid build-up and stripping of much needed hydration

What kind of products should be used for styling?
Paraben-free and sulfate surfactant-free products with lightweight hydration and curl support are best. We recommend Curl Cult products such as Magic Spell leave-in conditioner which makes detangling wet hair easy, balances pH, and elevates other products.Use in wet or dry hair, on a wash day to help style and non-wash days to restyle. Enhance moisturizing curl cream is a moisture rich lotion that helps activate curl and control frizz. For fine textures a lightweight mousse or foam with curl support.

How often can the treatment be done?
The treatment can be done as often as every 8-12 weeks.

Is the re-application of the treatment done on the entire head or just on new growth?
The re-application can be done on the entire head. We suggest using the Revive Conditioner through previously processed areas to help give added protection and hydration to hair.

How long will the treatment last?
A Curl Cult treatment will last 2-3 months on shorter lengths, and 4-6 months on longer lengths depending on:

  • how frequently you wash your hair

  • how fast your hair grows

  • the length of your hair

  • how resistant to curling your hair is

Should the hair be cut before or after the treatment?
If you are losing a lot of length, the majority of the cut can happen before the service. If your stylist is simply adjusting the shape to work with your new texture, we suggest waiting to cut your hair until after the service. The right cut for curly hair is imperative for the best results, and layers can really make your new texture pop!

Can the treatment be done on pregnant or nursing women?
We have safely performed the treatment on pregnant and nursing women, but we always recommend getting doctor's approval first.

What is the cost?

Starts at $149.
